Sade – Soldier of love

«Soldier of love» es el sexto álbum de estudio del grupo Sade y también la canción que se ha promocionado del disco como primer sencillo. La canción se publicó el 8 de diciembre de 2009 y el disco el 8 de febrero de 2010, habiendo pasado más de 10 años de su último disco, «Lovers Rock«.

Con este álbum, Sade ha conseguido el número 1 en las listas estadounidenses por una semana, algo que no sucedía desde que el disco «Promise» estuviese dos semanas en la cima de la lista Billboard 200 en 1986. Con el sencillo «Soldier of love«, Sade sólo consiguió destacar en la lista Billboard de Jazz, donde también consiguió llegar al número 1.

El tema fue escrito por Sade Adu junto a otros miembros del grupo, y fue grabado a finales de verano del pasado año. El vídeo musical fue dirigido por Sophie Muller y coreografiado por Fatima Robinson, siendo emitido por primera vez el 10 de enero de 2010. Sade explicó que los soldados del vídeo, representan sus emociones «en el campo de batalla de la vida».
