Ya hice un reportaje hace tiempo sobre uno de mis videojuegos favoritos de todos los tiempos, Valkyrie Profile, así que ya era hora que hiciera un repaso a su música.
Es una banda sonora a cargo del maestro Motoi Sakuraba, un gurú en esto de música en juegos de rol desde hace mucho tiempo, así que ya de entrada tenemos una garantía mínima. Cabe destacar que hay dos grupos diferenciados de canciones, las de acción y las demás.
Las de acción pecan por ser bastante parecidas, aunque no quedan mal en el juego, pues lo que hacen es ambientar estados más movidos. He leído que a esta música le llaman “power rock” o rock progresivo.
Las demás, son muy buenas, pues hay desde música clásica a otras de misterio o tristeza, y a mi gusto son las más bonitas de todas.
Al final del disco, incomprensiblemente hay canciones de Star Ocean 2, que no sé qué pintan en esta OST, aparte de no saber exactamente ahora cuáles deben ser, porque no vienen especificadas. Para mi no es un error, sino un extra, pero es que podrían haberlo escrito por alguna parte.
Otro “error” es que las canciones duran poco, y teniendo espacio de sobra en el CD, se podrían haber repetido los ciclos un poco en algunas.
